The Archaeology surrounding the Village of Kedington in Suffolk has sites of all ages

and is located right in the south west corner of the County.

Palaeolithic c450,000 - 10,000 BC    

TL 7046 - Flint Hand Axe (acheulian pointed). KDG-005

Mesolithic c10,000 - 4,500 BC

TL 7047 - Considerable material on site of later Causewayed Enclosure,

Saxon / Medieval c410 - 1066 / 1066 - 1485 

TL 7046 - Site of large hall with moat of the Barnardiston family, Elizabeth the 1st stayed here.

TL 7046 - Parish Church St Peter and St Paul (patrons above family),
Saxon and Norman features remain part of the Church ( known as the Westminster Abbey of Suffolk).
